Former Lyft President Kristin Sverchek Joins Deep Fission’s Advisory Board to Help Guide Growth, Regulatory, and Public Impact

BERKELEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Deep Fission Inc. (Deep Fission), an advanced nuclear energy company burying small modular reactors a mile underground for cheaper, faster, and more scalable deployment, is proud to announce that Kristin Sverchek has joined its Advisory Board. Kristin’s deep expertise in governance and public engagement will be integral as the company works to advance regulatory pathways, bolster public confidence in nuclear energy, and bring its urgently needed technology to market.

Kristin is the former President of Lyft, where she played a central role in the company’s evolution from a bold startup to a category-defining force in ridesharing. Over more than a decade, she helped steer Lyft through its most pivotal phases, serving as General Counsel, President of Business Affairs, and ultimately, President. Her leadership was instrumental in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and scaling operations in a dynamic, highly scrutinized industry.

“Kristin helped build a world-changing company at Lyft that fundamentally transformed how people think about ride-hailing, urban mobility, and regulation,” said Liz Muller, co-founder and CEO of Deep Fission. “At Deep Fission, we’re tackling a similar challenge by reshaping the energy landscape and altering how the world views nuclear power. Kristin’s experience handling those kinds of inflection points is exactly what we need as we move toward commercialization.”

Just as Lyft revolutionized how people move through cities, Deep Fission is reimagining how the world generates and distributes emission-free, safe, and reliable power. Kristin’s background in legal strategy, corporate growth, and regulatory engagement aligns closely with Deep Fission’s goal to responsibly accelerate the deployment of advanced nuclear technologies.

“Working with Deep Fission feels like stepping into another once-in-a-generation opportunity,” said Kristin. “At Lyft, we had to challenge old assumptions to help shift an entire industry, which is exactly what Deep Fission is doing with nuclear energy. I’m excited to support them on this journey and share my learnings from my time at Lyft.”
