Granite Appoints George L. Nash, Jr. to Board of Directors

WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Granite (NYSE: GVA) announced today the appointment of George L. Nash, Jr. to its Board of Directors, effective August 5, 2026.

With more than three decades of leadership experience across the global energy, infrastructure, and construction sectors, Mr. Nash brings extensive operational, strategic, and governance expertise to support Granite’s continued growth and long-term value creation.

Mr. Nash most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the North America region of Atkins, now AtkinsRéalis, a global leader in design, engineering, and project management services. During his tenure, the business more than doubled revenue and profitability while expanding its capabilities across infrastructure, transportation, environmental, water, defense, and energy markets. He also led the North American organization through Atkins’ integration with SNC-Lavalin following its acquisition in 2017, helping strengthen the company’s position as a leading provider of engineering and project management services throughout the United States and Canada.

Prior to Atkins, Mr. Nash held senior executive leadership positions with AECOM and URS Corporation. Following AECOM’s acquisition of URS, he served as President of AECOM’s Energy, Industrial and Infrastructure Construction division, overseeing a global portfolio of engineering, construction, and project management activities. Earlier, as Chief Operating Officer and later President of URS Corporation’s global Energy and Construction division, he was responsible for major business units serving power, industrial, infrastructure, environmental, and energy markets worldwide.

Throughout his career, Mr. Nash has led large publicly traded organizations through periods of significant growth, mergers, acquisitions, and business integration, providing valuable experience in corporate governance, strategic planning, risk management, and capital allocation.

“George's extensive experience leading engineering and infrastructure organizations through growth and transformation makes him an outstanding addition to our board,” said Granite Board Chair Mike McNally. “His unique perspective at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure investment, and project execution will further strengthen the board as we continue to position Granite for sustainable growth in an evolving infrastructure market and create long-term shareholder value."

Mr. Nash began his career in the engineering and power industries and later held executive leadership roles with several global engineering and construction organizations. He is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Brown University.
