Rajant Achieves 60 km Range in Real-World Testing with New 2.2 GHz Licensed High Power S-Band Radio

WICKENBURG, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rajant Corporation today announced the successful completion of long-range field testing in Arizona, validating reliable high-throughput connectivity at distances up to 60 km using its new proprietary 2.2 GHz High Power S-Band Radio.

Conducted in harsh desert conditions without reliance on fixed infrastructure, the testing demonstrated Rajant’s ability to support resilient long-range communications for autonomous and manned operations across dynamic environments.

The new 2.2 GHz Licensed High-Power S-Band Radio is Rajant’s most powerful radio to date, delivering up to 39 dBm (8 Watts) of RF transmit power. The modular form-fit-function architecture is currently integrated across Rajant’s Peregrine, Condor, and DX5 Finch BreadCrumb® platforms.

“These results validate a major expansion in what Rajant networks can support operationally,” said Robert J. Schena, CEO of Rajant Corporation. “We can now deliver resilient Kinetic Mesh® connectivity at significantly greater distances with fewer nodes and no dependence on fixed infrastructure, strengthening our ability to support autonomous operations in contested and remote environments, and much more to come.”

Key test results include:

  • 60 km achieved using the new 2.2 GHz High Power radio with panel antennas at reduced bandwidth, maintaining 8.29 Mbps throughput and 3.519 ms latency.
  • 32 km achieved with 10 Mbps throughput and 1 ms latency.
  • Strong low-latency, high-throughput performance maintained across 10 km and 20 km distances under varying antenna configurations.

The testing further demonstrated Rajant Kinetic Mesh’s core advantages in real-world conditions, including self-healing connectivity across moving assets and sustained performance over extended ranges.
