This partnership expands Group 1001’s commitment to making an impact in communities across the country. Through 1001 Hours of Impact, the company’s corporate volunteer program, employees have stocked food pantries, packed meal boxes, and volunteered for other causes in the communities where they work and live. Since 2021, employees have packed more than 170,000 meals* for neighbors facing hunger in Indiana.
"Highlighting hunger-relief causes in the communities where we work and live has been an important philanthropic effort for Group 1001," said Mike Nichols, Group 1001 Chief of Sponsorship Strategy and Activation. "By working with Feeding America and Indy resident Joey Chestnut, alongside Gainbridge Super League teams, we are amplifying the critical work of food banks in their local markets."
As part of this effort, Chestnut will visit select Gainbridge Super League markets to help raise awareness about food insecurity and highlight the work of local food banks. The Gainbridge Super League, a Division One professional women's soccer league, is supported by title sponsor Gainbridge℠, a Group 1001 company, which launched the Gainbridge Savings Tracker. The initiative donates $99 for every save made during league matches, with a portion of those funds supporting efforts to help end hunger in markets across the league. To date, the Savings Tracker has raised more than $50,000.
Chestnut will travel to team markets across the league to connect with local food banks, lead gameday activations to collect nutritious, non-perishable food items, and participate in community engagement events designed to drive awareness and action. His first appearance will be in Jacksonville, where he will attend Sporting JAX's home match.
"Everyone deserves access to nutritious meals," Chestnut said. "I'm eager to use my platform to support Group 1001's efforts to transform communities, and I'm excited to visit Gainbridge Super League markets in bringing awareness to the movement to end hunger.”
