Pulver assumes the role under NETS’ amended bylaws aligning the Vice Chairperson’s term with the two-year Chairperson term to strengthen continuity. She will serve the 2026–2027 term and assume Board Chairperson in 2028.

Pulver has served on the NETS Board since 2021 and brings over two decades of experience in transportation. At State Farm, she collaborates with academic, industry, and public sector partners to advance driving safety and supports sustainable vehicle technology.

“Liz brings a research-driven perspective and a strong commitment to advancing transportation safety,” said Tom Karnowski, NETS Board Chairperson. “Her experience across academic and industry communities strengthens NETS’ ability to deliver evidence-based strategies to reduce risk.”

Pulver leads programs on driving safety including driver behavior, vehicle technology, fleet safety, and equitable mobility. Prior to joining State Farm in 2010, she conducted research for General Motors R&D. Passionate about safer roads and accessible transportation, she sees intentional partnerships as vital to saving lives and reducing risk.

She is a co-author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and has served in leadership roles with professional organizations including Intelligent Transportation Society of America, Society for Automotive Engineers, the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, and the Society for Applied Anthropology.

“I’m honored to serve as Vice Chairperson and to support the collaboration NETS fosters in advancing employer-led road safety initiatives,” said Pulver. “Employers play a critical role in reducing roadway risk, and I look forward to continuing that work alongside the Board.”

With Pulver’s appointment, NETS reinforces commitment to leadership continuity and evidence-based road safety strategy.
