AHF Welcomes H.R. 7148 Reforms That Target Pharmacy Benefit Managers

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) welcomes the introduction of H.R. 7148 – the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026. While the bill is designed to fund the federal government, the legislation includes targeted reforms that will loosen the stranglehold pharmacy benefit managers have over the prescription drug supply chain. If signed into law, PBMs will no longer receive any renumeration for Medicare Part D drugs outside of bona fide service fees. Plus, several new reporting requirements for PBMs will promote transparency in an industry rife with deceptive business practices.
