Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation Awards 550+ In-Store Donations in Single Day

Across 450 neighborhoods, Sprouts Farmers Market stores hosted check presentations totaling $3.3M to local partners supporting nutrition and wellness programs

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation celebrated its Sprouting Healthy Communities Day, where all 450 Sprouts locations hosted live in-store check presentations, awarding $3.3 million in donations to over 550 local nonprofit partners and schools.

“At Sprouts, caring for our community is one of our core values, and with the Sprouting Healthy Communities Day we saw that value in action,” said Dustin Hamilton, chief stores officer of Sprouts Farmers Market. “This in-store event created a powerful moment of connection across the country as our team members came together with local partners to support children, families, and healthier communities.”

The $5,000 to $10,000 grants are designed to strengthen programs that provide children and families with greater access to nutrition education, school gardens, cooking classes, and wellness opportunities. Collectively, these programs are expected to reach an estimated one million children and adults this year.

The donations presented in-store are part of the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation’s grants program announced in May. Grants are funded in part by donations collected from customers during the checkout process, where customers are given the opportunity to round up their purchase to support local children’s nutrition education programs.

“Our customers are right by our side helping to make these programs possible, and some of them even nominated the nonprofits that we supported in these grants,” said Lyndsey Waugh, executive director of the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation.
