Winged Keel Group Furthers Market Expansion with Acquisition of MBW Group

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Winged Keel Group (“Winged Keel”) today announced its continued national expansion with the acquisition of MBW Group and opening of its Minneapolis office. The acquisition represents another strategic step forward in the firm’s continued growth as the premier national platform for the structuring, implementation, and administration of high-end life insurance. The new Winged Keel Minneapolis office will be led by Principals Jeffery W. Bird and David A. Wischmeier and comprised of a team of experienced client relationship managers and brokerage service professionals. This marks Winged Keel’s second acquisition this summer.

MBW Group provides life insurance planning strategies and business succession solutions for ultra-affluent families and business owners. The Minneapolis-based firm was founded in 1975 and brings 50 years of experience in providing sophisticated life insurance solutions and an extraordinary commitment to excellence to Winged Keel with this acquisition.

Principal Jeffery W. Bird comes to Winged Keel with decades of experience in inter-generational wealth accumulation and transfer strategies. He began his career as a tax attorney and Advanced Life Insurance Underwriter, and specializes in structuring customized life insurance solutions to address wealth transfer, income tax planning, and business continuity needs. Outside of the office, Jeffery serves on the board of several nonprofit organizations and helped found and continues to be actively involved in Hope Academy, a private school for disadvantaged children.

Principal David A. Wischmeier has an extensive background in structuring life insurance solutions to optimize wealth transfer, income tax planning, and benefits planning. David was a practicing attorney before joining MBW Group and has over 25 years of serving the unique needs of ultra-high net worth families and companies. David is a trusted expert on life insurance matters, and David’s testimony on life settlements has been used to pass government legislation to protect consumers. Outside of the office, David is actively involved in several non-profits in the local community.
