Wireless History Foundation Announces 2025 Inductees for Wireless Hall of Fame
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Wireless History Foundation (WHF) will induct five honorees into the prestigious Wireless Hall of Fame during the Foundation’s awards dinner in Washington, D.C. on September 29th. This year’s inductees are:
- Ken Horowitz: Ken Horowitz is a pioneer and entrepreneur in paging and wireless services and participated in the 1980s applications for the first cellular licenses. He was an early member of Telocator, and was an executive at Cellular Systems Inc., and Metromedia, co-founder of Cellular One and Air Waves Wireless Electricity, and Chairman of the Board of Witricity.
- Neville Ray: Neville Ray has influenced technology in the wireless industry for decades. He is the former President of Technology at T-Mobile, guiding 5G implementation and through his innovation pioneered Fixed Wireless Access.
- Jesse Russell: Electrical engineer at AT&T Bell Labs, invented the digital cellular base station, the fiber optic microcell utilizing high power linear amplifier technology, and digital modulation techniques. His innovations in wireless communication systems, architectures, end-user devices, and technology related to radio access networks and in-building wireless communication systems, have fundamentally changed the wireless communication industry.
- Liz Sachs: Telecom attorney at Lukas, LaFuria, Lantor & Sachs who helped expand spectrum allocations for land mobile services, and debated and shaped wireless communications policy for clients with the FCC. She continues to provide legal counsel to major entities on regulatory and transactional matters in the wireless industry.
- Tom Stroup: Tom Stroup has been in the wireless industry for over 40 years and is currently president of the Satellite Industry Association. He is the former president of Telocator/PCIA (now WIA) during which he initiated efforts to deregulate and obtain additional spectrum and advocated for a competitive landscape and regulatory changes that changed the industry.

The Wireless Hall of Fame is an initiative meant to recognize the pioneers who made the wireless industry what it is today,” said WHF Executive Director Jenifer Snyder. “We are thrilled and honored to welcome the Class of 2025 Inductees into the Wireless Hall of Fame.”
