Aetrex’s New Zoe Pro 3D Foot Scanner Makes the Future of Fit Scalable

An engineering breakthrough, Zoe Pro makes cutting-edge fitting technology affordable for all retail doors

TEANECK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aetrex, Inc., a global leader in foot scanning technology and data-driven orthotics and footwear, today announced the launch of the Zoe Pro 3D foot scanner—a technology advancement designed to make premium foot scanning affordable and accessible to retailers of all sizes. Launching this August, Zoe Pro combines 3D foot measurements, underfoot pressure analysis, and AI-driven product recommendations in a compact, intuitive system. Built for modern retail, it allows stores to deliver accurate, personalized fit experiences with minimal training or staff involvement.

Larry Schwartz, CEO of Aetrex, Inc., likens the vision behind Zoe Pro to Tesla’s transformative approach in the electric vehicle market, aimed to dramatically reduce cost through innovative engineering to bring the technology to the mainstream. “Just as Tesla revolutionized electric vehicles with the Models 3 and Y, our goal was to make cutting-edge foot scanning attainable for the broader market—without compromising performance. This is the future of fit. And it fits everyone,” said Schwartz.

Zoe Pro shares the core DNA of Aetrex’s flagship Albert Pro scanner, maintaining the same high standards of accuracy, speed, and shopper engagement. However, it represents a complete reimagining of the system’s architecture. As Schwartz says, “Zoe Pro is an engineering breakthrough that combines precision with simplicity.”

Over an 18-month development period, Aetrex engineers removed 260 internal components, including chips, processors, and wiring, while enhancing the camera and pressure sensor systems to fine-tune performance at a reduced cost. One impactful hardware change was the reduction from three MCU processors in the Albert Pro to just one in Zoe Pro. This change improved speed and reduced complexity—without sacrificing scanning precision. The Zoe Pro also features a wider entrance and taller protective base, making it easier and more intuitive for users in heavy traffic stores to step into and use.

A key innovation is Zoe AI, an intelligent 3D-animated assistant named Zoe, that guides users through the scan, explains the results, and recommends products through voice and text prompts. The experience is intuitive and educational for both shoppers and associates, creating seamless engagements and an opportunity for enhanced customer service.

Zoe Pro captures 16 key foot measurements (length, width, arch height, arch depth, girth, etc), supports both adult and children’s scans, with kids-specific software called Tootsie, and integrates with a retailer’s POS system to provide best-fitting product recommendations across any shoe brand in the retailer’s inventory. While Zoe Pro excludes some Albert Pro features—like gait analysis and R&D tools—it focuses on what most retailers need: precise sizing, pressure mapping underfoot, and personalized AI-powered product recommendations.

The Zoe Pro launch builds on the success of Aetrex’s flagship scanner Albert Pro, which has driven measurable retail performance across thousands of stores. Albert Pro has seen up to a 64% orthotic conversion rate and a 60% dual purchase rate for footwear and orthotics. With up to a 55% email capture rate, the scanner also helps retailers drive consumer engagement and additional personalized fit recommendations after a customer leaves the store. Albert Pro has been embraced by many of the world’s top footwear retailers, including Foot Locker, DSW, Asics, Puma and hundreds more.

By dramatically reducing cost and complexity, Zoe Pro creates a new opportunity for retailers to integrate advanced 3D scanning into their everyday shoe-fitting experience. Aetrex’s mission is to bring better fit, comfort, and foot health to every shopper.

Zoe Pro is now available to U.S. retail partners for $1,995 (or $55/month). Learn more at aetrex.com/zoepro.
