JetBlue Strengthens Fort Lauderdale Focus with New Flights and More Mint®

Airline adds four destinations, increases flying on select routes and expands Fort Lauderdale’s only domestic lie-flats service with more Mint flying

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) today announced exciting growth at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), reinforcing its commitment to bringing one of the best customer experiences to South Florida with new routes, more flights on existing routes, and expanded availability of its premium Mint experience, all available to book now.

In the coming months, JetBlue will launch year-round, nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale to Atlanta (ATL)*, Austin (AUS)*, Norfolk (ORF), and Tampa (TPA), expanding travel options for South Florida customers to reach popular destinations while also bringing more visitors looking to explore sunny South Florida or the great Caribbean destinations they can connect to. Along with the added destinations, the airline is putting an additional daily flight on existing routes from Fort Lauderdale to Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), Phoenix (PHX), Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and Richmond (RIC), to meet growing demand.

“Fort Lauderdale has long been a key market for JetBlue, and we’re excited to keep growing with the region,” said Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president, network planning and airline partnerships. “With new routes, more flights and the expansion of our award-winning Mint experience on more trips, and the best crewmembers in the business, we’re continuing to offer more reasons for South Florida travelers to choose JetBlue.”

"As a longtime FLL air service partner, we applaud JetBlue's plans to add Tampa and Norfolk to our airport's route map and resume flights to Atlanta and Austin," said Mark Gale, FLL CEO/Director of Aviation. "Additionally, the increased daily frequency on select high-demand U.S. routes this fall and the expanding availability of its Mint premium experience will all benefit FLL travelers."

These additions follow the return of two routes from Fort Lauderdale that began earlier this month: twice-daily service to Philadelphia and once-daily service to Guayaquil, Ecuador. Together, these expansions reflect JetBlue’s continued commitment to responding to customer demand with strategic growth.

Fort Lauderdale is getting Mint-ier

With the addition of another daily flight from Fort Lauderdale to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, JetBlue is also expanding access to its premium Mint experience, which is provided on these routes. Mint is JetBlue’s unique take on business class, offering a fresh, customer-first approach to premium travel.

This winter travel season, every JetBlue flight between Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco will offer Mint, complete with lie-flat seating, elevated dining, and personalized service. With 13 daily Mint flights available from Fort Lauderdale this winter, JetBlue’s premium, lie-flat service to the West Coast is unmatched across South Florida and stands as the only domestic lie-flat offering from Fort Lauderdale for the season.

“We’re excited to add more Mint to popular routes from Fort Lauderdale and continue building on its success,” Jehn said. “Mint is a reimagined premium experience that offers a different level of comfort, privacy and hospitality. Our customers appreciate the difference, and we’re confident these expanded Mint routes will be a compelling option for travelers looking to elevate their journey.”

JetBlue’s strength at FLL and future collaboration with United Airlines

Over the past two decades, JetBlue has steadily built Fort Lauderdale into a key focus city and a major gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean. As the airline's first destination 25 years ago, Fort Lauderdale became a landmark in JetBlue’s network and continues to serve as the cornerstone of its South Florida operations.

This summer, JetBlue operates an average of 72 daily departures to 31 nonstop destinations from Fort Lauderdale, with those numbers growing substantially to 95 daily departures to 37 cities in December of this year. The airline will also continue to offer more transcontinental lie-flat seats from South Florida than any other carrier. With strong customer demand and these continued investments, which build upon a previously announced 6% year-over-year growth in departures, JetBlue remains a leading choice for South Florida travelers seeking award-winning service and premium experiences like Mint.

Later this year, customers will gain even greater connectivity and enhanced loyalty benefits through JetBlue’s new Blue Sky collaboration with United Airlines. With this collaboration, loyalty customers for both airlines will be able to earn and redeem points when traveling on more than 125 flights operated by JetBlue and United that depart each day from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
